FosterEd: Upcoming Training for Mentoring Foster Parents on Oct 7th & 9th

FosterEd is a new project aimed at improving the educational outcomes of children in foster care. They are looking for volunteers
who are interested in making a difference in the Santa Cruz community by serving as Educational Supports.

As an Educational Support, you will provide individual coaching and mentoring to parents or key adults involved in
the lives of children in foster care
. Mentoring topics include: beliefs about education, monitoring learning, communication
with school, appropriate schools and classes, attendance, and more. You will help these adults become more actively involved
in the child’s education, giving the child the support that he or she needs to succeed in school.

Our next training dates will be October 7th and 9th, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

If you are interested in volunteering, or for more information on the training, please contact:
