Positive Discipline Community Resources Announces LOFRC logoNew Partnership with Live Oak Family Resource Center

 

Positive Discipline Community Resources (PDCR), a local social change collaborative, has begun a formal partnership with Live Oak Family Resource Center (LOFRC) for Positive Discipline parenting
education. A partial list of those programs is below; there are a few established classes being taken
on by PDCR and several new offerings under development. PDCR staff will also be available on-site
at LOFRC (1740 17th Avenue) with office hours 1-3 PM, Mondays through Fridays, to support
parents in person and over the phone at 831-476-7284 x 107.

Positive Discipline for Parents of Children 2-5 years old (Fall Series)
What: This 8 week series helps parents with children 2-5 years old learn new ways to understand their children’s behavior, how to set limits with kindness and firmness, and ways to encourage their children to cooperate and become more capable.
When: August 26-October 14, Tuesdays, 6:30pm-8:30pm
Where: Live Oak Family Resource Center, 1740 17th Ave, Santa Cruz
Who: Colleen Murphy, Certified Positive Discipline Trainer, ECE co-op teacher with over 16 years of ECE teaching experience both with children and as a parent educator
Cost: $80 per person for the 8 week series, pre-register for childcare $10/class

Introduction to Positive Discipline (First Saturday Series)
What: What is Positive Discipline? How is it different from other parenting programs?
Learn about the core concepts of this effective and powerful program and walk away with some new parenting tools that can begin the foundation of a healthy relationship with your child.
When: September 6, Saturday 10:00am-12:00pm
