Qué: La vida puede ser una locura con todos los eventos, reuniones, y asuntos que tenemos.  Por eso, a veces es difícil reunir a la familia entera para hablar de cosas, organizar actividades divertidas, resolver asuntos, y pasar tiempo de calidad juntos.  Con juntas familiares regulares cada semana, de repente estamos poniendo en horario tiempo de calidad para comunicarnos con nuestros hijos, dando tiempo para apreciarlos, y compartiendo nuestra diversión juntos.  Aprenda lo básico de organizar estas juntas y evitar complicaciones que se nos pueden sumir.

Teen Mom Parenting Class
What:
 Free 6 week parenting series helps teen moms learn more about their child’s behavior and new ways to set limits with kindness and firmness. The class also covers safety around the home, car, feeding, sleeping, and bath time. Open to all moms up to 21 years old. Moms can also be pregnant or already have a child. Free childcare, snacks, and materials are provided

Learn how you can help prepare your teen for their future as you move from the pilot’s seat into the co-pilot’s seat. This class will explore the changing role parents must play as their teenagers individuate.  It also addresses how to develop your teen’s sense of intrinsic motivation so that they become active agents in preparing for their future.  Understand how to avoid parenting from a place of unresolved issues of your own past.  Develop communication skills to promote cooperation, and help build accountability and responsibility!

Parents & Teens Together, Setting the Course
The final class in the series invites the teenagers to attend with their parents. Having both parents and teenagers in class is an opportunity to explore ways to work in partnership on mutual goals. Together, they will practice establishing routines for studying and family life with family meetings, and making agreements on issues of importance.  Both parents and teenagers will learn tools for improved communication and see change as a continuum with opportunities for the future.

Positive Discipline Guided Family Meetings

What: This 5-week series will guide you through family meetings with the Positive Discipline model. Each week will delve into each of the four stages of the family meeting. The last week will be a hands-on meeting with your entire family in attendance with a special potluck dessert. Embodying Positive Discipline

This 2 class series teaches you to HOW to get your message across, not just with your words, but with your body posture, tone of voice and other forms of nonverbal communication.
